LITURGY
ALTAR
SERVERS
Boys and girls begin sharing their time and talent as early as the
fifth grade and are encouraged to continue serving into their high
school years. They assist the priest during every Mass and at other
spiritual functions, such as Stations of the Cross and Benediction.
All interested young people willing to help with this ministry are
asked to call Anne Maus at 842-2032.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE
WORD
Those involved in this ministry take the smaller children to the
Providence Room during the Liturgy of the Word at the 11:00 am Mass
and conduct a simpler liturgy for them, including some activity.
Anyone interested in helping should call Caroline Koetting
at 842-5733.
COMMUNION TO THE SICK
This group is made up of Eucharistic Ministers who bring Holy Communion
to the sick, especially on Sundays, so the sick can feel connected
to the parish. If you are interested call Marilyn Price
at 843-3570, ext. 21.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
If you are interested in promoting adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
and/or assisting on Tuesday mornings, contact Mary Vieth
at 849-0489.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION
Commissioned during a Sunday liturgy in a formal ceremony, these
men and women assist in the distribution of the Body and Blood of
Christ at Sunday Masses. In addition, they assist at the daily Eucharistic
celebrations. The ministers also bring the Body of Christ to fellow
parishioners who are confined to their homes. This ministry is a
perfect witness of stewardship, sharing one’s time and talent.
New members are always encouraged to join, and orientation meetings
are held periodically. Interested persons are asked to call Fr.
Rauch at the rectory at 843-3570.
LECTORS
In addition to our Priest and deacons, Our Lady of Providence parishioners
are invited to share in the ministry of proclaiming the Word of
God to the parish family. They share their time and talent at all
daily, Sunday and Holy Day Masses. All men and women with appropriate
skills are encouraged to serve. Please call Jo Ann Perkins
at 270-3118.
SACRISTANS
These are parishioners who voluntarily care for the sanctuary, sacristy,
sacred vessels, altar linens, vestments and floral arrangements.
By taking responsibility for these sacred items, the sacristans
use their time and talent to ensure that areas and items are available
and ready at the proper time. If interested call Doris
Mantia at 842-0280.
USHERS
Their duties include: greeting people as they enter church, helping
with seating, collecting the offering, assisting with communicants’
approach to the altar, and distributing the weekly bulletins. As
good stewards, the ushers give of their time and talent to facilitate
Sunday worship for the parish family. Men and women who are interested
in this ministry please contact Jo Ann Perkins at 270-3118.
